USTVPN is a system-wide VPN, which means that as soon as you launch it, all your connections are protected, across up to 6 different devices. You can browse using your favorite browser, download files with your usual torrent client, or do anything else you’d normally do online. USTVPN will keep all of it completely anonymous.
How exactly does a VPN protect my privacy?
Each time you launch USTVPN, the software automatically creates a “tunnel.” This is a connection between your device and the UST server. The tunnel is encrypted at 256 bits, which means only you know what kind of data is being sent over it. The VPN server then makes a connection to the URL or server you choose, and sends the encrypted results back to your device. That means your device will never connect directly to any website or server, so no data or traffic can ever be tied back to your IP address. Plus, the double layer of encryption protects your data from being decrypted and stolen by any hackers who might listen in.
What’s an IP address, and what does it have to do with my privacy?
Every computer and device in the world uses a unique set of numbers, known as an IP address, to identify itself when it connects to websites and other servers. Websites track the IP addresses of all the users who access their pages – and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) also keeps logs of all the activity associated with your IP. This information can be used to perform all kinds of analysis of your browsing habits, since it can easily be connected to your location, and to your past activity on other sites. Many companies (including Google) even use your IP address to target ads to your browsing patterns, and create detailed profiles of your online activity. However, a VPN prevents any server from ever seeing your IP address, so you’re always fully anonymous.
How does my USTVPN account work?
For starters, just download and install the software*. The first time you start it, your computer will connect to USTVPN’s server, which will assign you an IP address that can’t be connected back to your original IP. Then, just browse and download as normal, using your favorite apps. Your local ISP will only see a single encrypted data stream between you and our VPN server. That means no one will ever be able to see, log or monitor your Internet usage again. Also, since you can choose a VPN server anywhere in the world, you’ll be free to browse sites and stream videos that are blocked or restricted in your location, just as if you were in a country where that content isn’t restricted.
What is USTVPN’s Kill Switch technology?
USTVPN’s intelligent technology detects any drop-out in the VPN connection, and automatically terminates any programs you’ve specified – or disables system-wide Internet access until you re-enable it. This automated response prevents any non-anonymous data from leaking, even if you don’t notice the leak yourself.
What is a Double VPN, and how does it work?
This is a special option that offers even more protection than an ordinary VPN. First, the user connects to a node, which encrypts the data and sends it to a second node, where it is encrypted again before reaching the Internet. While a single layer of encryption is often sufficient, a Double VPN effectively makes it mathematically impossible for hackers to decrypt your data.
Where are USTVPN’s servers located?
USTVPN currently operates VPN servers in Austria, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, South Africa, Romania, Brazil, Poland, Australia, Sweden, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Russia, Lithuania, Canada, Singapore, Germany, Latvia, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
How many devices can I connect to my USTVPN at the same time?
Each USTVPN account provides simultaneous access for up to 6 different devices. The only limit is that, if two or more devices want to connect to the same server, you must choose different protocols for the VPN connections (TCP and UDP are different protocols hence you can connect one device to TCP other to UDP). That means that a total of 4 devices can be connected to a server at once – through L2TP, PPTP, OpenVPN TCP and OpenVPN UDP. If you’re using two more devices at home, you can connect them to another server with any two protocols.
Do you keep any of my personal information?
The only information we will ever keep about you is the set of details we use for billing. That info is kept on our private encrypted server, and never shared with any third party in any way. We never make or keep any logs of your online activity.
